Proform Construction Products purchased Norstair Precast Step Systems on May 1, 2019. The decision for Proform to formally acquire Norstair Precast was a natural fit as the precast steps they sold were exclusively manufactured in Proform’s Calgary plant.
Norstair Precast was a successful, family owned and operated company that sold and installed precast steps in the Edmonton and surrounding area. The two-person operation, Michelle and Jay Phillips, have 43 years of combined precast experience. Michelle and Jay happily joined the Proform team as they saw an opportunity to further grow their business and felt good knowing the products their clients had grown to trust would not change. Together, this new union is dedicated to continuing to excel as a quality precast supplier and has already been working diligently to contact clients and answer any questions to ensure everyone is comfortable with the transition.
The reputation of a company like Norstair joining Proform solidifies a top presence in the precast market and further strengthens Proform’s mission to provide quality precast products throughout Alberta and Western Canada. In addition, Proform can now leverage existing and new relationships in Edmonton and the surrounding area and grow the precast step business by packaging it with their popular Timberstone product. This new residential package will feature additional savings and competitive prices.
‘We see this as an opportunity to take a great business and scale up by using our joint resources to build the base into something larger,’ said CEO, Damian Zapisocky. ‘I’m very excited about what this means for us now and in the long run, including how well this fits with our Strategic Plan and our ‘One Stop Shop’ strategy of differentiating ourselves from our competitors.’ Proform is a steadily growing company that acquired two other businesses last year: Key Concrete Products and Vic’s Concrete Finishing.
With this acquisition, Jay and Michelle’s contact numbers will remain the same but they will now be operating out of Proform’s Edmonton branch located at 18420 118 Avenue NW.
